Introducing members of Dancing Feet Ceilidh Band


Roddy Johnston hails from the north-east of Scotland. As well as being a fine fiddler and bagpiper, he is an accomplished singer songwriter and exponent of doric songs. He has played in many bands in Yorkshire, and was a founder member of Dynamo Zetor. He has recently moved to Perthshire.

 

 

Kate Badcock, originally from the South of England, studied music at Dartington college of Arts before spending the next 10 years in Ireland, immersing herself in the music there. Since her return to England 4 years ago she has played in techno/acoustic band Tetchi before joining forces with Julian and Roddy, and more recently moving to Perthshire.

Julian Marley is from yorkshire and played in indie bands before going to leeds college of music to study jazz and indian music. He has played nationwide and on the continent with afro reggae band African Roots, Folk fusion band Elephant Talk and Klezmer band Batinka.

  Jack Badcock spent the first 10 years of his life in Ireland before moving to Leeds and then Edinburgh, where he is a familiar face in Sandy Bells and various music venues in Edinburgh, singing and playing guitar

Euan Johnston has been based in Edunburgh for a number of years now, and is a familiar face around the city, performing regularly in a number of bands, including his own, Macpolvo (www.macpolvo.com). As well as playing bodhran, he is an excellent singer and guitarist, performing traditional and folk songs of Scotland.

Pol Hegarty is originally form the north west of Ireland. He is a kit drummer and percussionist who has played various styles of music - brass bands, rock, indie, reggae, folk fusion - in Ireland, England and France. He was a founder member of Dynamo Zetor with Roddy, and now joins the band on their regular sorties to the south of France, where he is now based.
